Celebrate Manhattan’s only remaining lighthouse at the annual Little Red Lighthouse Festival in Fort Washington Park. This free, family-friendly afternoon is presented by Summer on the Hudson (Riverside Park Conservancy), the NYC Parks Urban Park Rangers, and the Historic House Trust of New York City. Rain or shine.

Getting there

Enter Fort Washington Park at West 158th Street or West 181st Street and walk down to the river, under the George Washington Bridge, where the lighthouse stands.

Lighthouse tours

  • Free timed tour tickets are handed out at the festival starting at 12 PM.
  • Tours run in 40-minute windows, about 24 visitors per timeslot.
  • Access to the top is by stairs only (walk up, walk down).
  • Expect to spend some time in line.
