Shakespeare in the Park
Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 6:00 PM · Richard Rodgers Amphitheater, Marcus Garvey Park, Harlem
CB12M Night at Othello, part of the Uptown Shakespeare in the Park series presented by the Classical Theatre of Harlem. Community Board 12 tabled from 6:00 to 8:00 PM ahead of the 8:30 PM performance.
Uptown Shakespeare in the Park (USP) is a free 3½-week outdoor run of a classic (or inspired) play, enhanced with music and dance and influenced by the African Diaspora. For its 2026 production of Othello, director Carl Cofield will examine how the lasting psychological and physical effects of past wars and the ongoing experience of being “the other” in a divided world shape people’s identities and relationships today.
