Community Board 12-Manhattan (CB12M) has successfully defended the core of its amicus brief in the litigation between Judlau Contracting and the City of New York. The Court accepted the portion of the brief that presents the community’s perspective, a significant victory for Northern Manhattan.

In its decision, the Court recognized the community’s desire to be heard on the continuing impact of the underlying project.

“We are grateful to the Court for welcoming the community’s perspective, and even more grateful to the residents who stood up and made their voices heard,” said Anthony Viola, Chairperson of CB12M. “We hope this case moves forward swiftly so that real, substantive work takes place on the site and the project is completed.”

The decision follows CB12M’s appearance before the Court on October 20, 2026, where residents filled the courtroom.

CB12M is the local community board for Washington Heights and Inwood, charged under the City Charter with addressing and advocating for community concerns. The Board is represented by Paul Stewart-Stand, Esq.

The Court’s decision is available on the New York e-Courts website.
